Things to Do in Columbia

We love Columbia and think you will too!

If you have extra time in town, here are some ways you could spend it:

  • Grab a beer at Logboat Brewing Company.  The brewery has a large outdoor area with picnic tables and space for yard games. It’s like a tailgate party, without the game to go to. Kara and Dave recommend the Snapper IPA or Shiphead Ginger Wheat.

  • Visit The District, Columbia’s downtown area.  It’s home to several restaurants, bars and independent shops.  We recommend Flat Branch for burgers and beers.
  • Cool off at Trops. Kara and Dave stopped here on July 4th when they had first started dating. Kara offered to buy Dave a drink, Dave requested a small, and Kara returned with a medium, because she “didn’t want to be seen ordering a small.” Kara recommends a half Sweet Tart/half Silver Bullet.

  • Explore Mizzou’s campus. With 18 gardens across campus, Mizzou is considered a Botanic Garden. You also need to see the famous columns, the remnants of Academic Hall, which burnt down in 1892.
  • Spend time on a trail. The MKT Trail starts in downtown Columbia and connects to the Katy Trail.
